Windows Production’s Bohurupi – The Golden Daku set for national and international release on October 23 after grossing a massive ₹5.44 crore in Bengal in 7 days

The Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Jisshu U Sengupta-starrer is set to reach audiences across India and overseas following its Bengal theatrical run

Windows Production’s Bohurupi – The Golden Daku, directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee, is set for its national and international release on 23 October 2026, taking its Bengal-rooted story to audiences beyond its home market. The film has recorded ₹5.44 crore in gross collections in 7days and ₹4.81 crore in net collections in Bengal.

The wider release marks an important next chapter for the film as it prepares to connect with audiences across India and overseas. Hombale Films, known for backing culturally rooted cinematic successes such as KGF and Kantara, has come on board to handle the film’s overseas distribution. The collaboration is a significant milestone for Windows Production and offers an opportunity to take a story shaped by Bengal’s cultural landscape to international audiences.

For Windows Production, which celebrates 25 years in 2026, Bohurupi – The Golden Daku represents the continuing journey of regional storytelling beyond geographical boundaries. Led by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Jisshu U Sengupta, the film follows the intense pursuit between a notorious robber and the police officer determined to bring him to justice, blending action, suspense and a strong cultural identity.

Speaking about the response to the film and its upcoming release, Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee said in a joint statement, “It is always special when a story you have created finds a place in the hearts of audiences. Bohurupi – The Golden Daku is deeply rooted in Bengal, and seeing people embrace its characters and the world of the film has been immensely gratifying. The response in Bengal has given us great encouragement as we prepare for the national and international release on 23 October. We hope audiences in other markets connect with the film in the same way. With Windows completing 25 years, it is particularly meaningful to take a story so closely connected to Bengal to a wider audience.”

With its national and international release on 23 October, Bohurupi – The Golden Daku is ready to build on its Bengal run and bring its story to a wider theatrical audience.
