New Delhi, May 8: NAREDCO MAHI, the women’s wing of the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), in association with ICC National Women’s Entrepreneurship Council (INWEC), Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and MSME Development and Facilitation Office (DFO), Cuttack, successfully hosted the Bhubaneswar Meet on Day 3 of the INWEC National Women Business Mela 2.0 at the Exhibition Ground, Bhubaneswar.
The event spotlighted the growing role of women in India’s real estate and entrepreneurship sectors. Smt. Surama Padhy, Hon’ble Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Ms. Nitisha Mann, IAS, Deputy Director, MSME Odisha, and Ms. Sofia Firdous, Hon’ble MLA, Barabati Cuttack, attended as Guests of Honour.
Delivering the keynote, Ms. Smita Dhanraj Patil, President, NAREDCO Mahi and MD, SSPL Group, said: “NAREDCO Mahi envisions a future where women are not just part of the real estate landscape – they are leading it. Our mission is to unite women professionals across the country, foster collaboration, and enable inclusive industry growth. Chief Guest Smt. Surama Padhy, Hon’ble Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, emphasized the need for women to play a decisive role in the growth of real estate. “Women have the power to bring transparency, ethics, and empathy to this industry,” she said, urging greater leadership opportunities for women in building sustainable cities and communities.
Guest of Honour Ms. Sofia Firdous, Hon’ble MLA, Barabati Cuttack, spoke on breaking gender stereotypes in male-dominated industries like real estate. She stated, “Women are equally capable of leading businesses and managing projects,” and encouraged them to take bold steps, while calling for stronger policy and ecosystem support for women entrepreneurs.
Ms. Ratnamala Swain, VP East of NAREDCO Mahi & MD of DN Homes, aptly stated, “When women support women, magic happens.” Reflecting the spirit of NAREDCO Mahi, she emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among women leaders. “At Mahi, we stand strong together, for each other,” she added, underscoring the collective strength and shared purpose driving the organization forward.
The event also featured leadership insights from Dr. Ananta S Raghuvanshi, Chairperson, NAREDCO Mahi. Along with many distinguished members, Ms. Priya Shah, Vice President – North, NAREDCO Mahi, Ms. Orpita Das, AVP – East, NAREDCO Mahi along were present at the event.
