For Pan Indian Actress Sheena Chohan, fitness has never been limited to looking fit on camera. For years, it has been about discipline, movement and learning how to push the body and mind together. Now, that year-long relationship with martial arts is finding its way into her films.
Ahead of her pan-Indian action thriller film Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam, Sheena has shared a glimpse of her intense martial arts training, and the video feels less like a promotional exercise and more like a reflection of a skill she has genuinely carried with her for years.
In the video, Sheena trains alongside her stunt master, moving through defensive positions, responding to attacks and hitting back with controlled, precise movements. There is a sense of rhythm and instinct to the session — the kind that comes from repeatedly practising something rather than simply learning choreography for a film.
A brown belt in karate and martial arts, Sheena has revealed that she practiced martial arts every day for five years during school. Those years, she says, taught her discipline, focus and motivation — lessons that have stayed with her long after her school training ended.
*“It’s action time. Being a brown belt in karate and martial arts and practicing MMA every day for five years during school taught me discipline, focus and motivation — but more importantly, it taught me what it takes to build the strength, stamina and mental endurance needed to push your body beyond its limits. Those five years of training, spending hours working on my technique, conditioning, and movement, have stayed with me to this day. Fitness is a way of life for me, and martial arts is a skill I genuinely love. Now, when I step into an action sequence for my films, I can draw on something I have trained for and built over years. There’s a different kind of confidence that comes when the action isn’t just choreography for you, but a skill you have actually lived and practised. And honestly, getting to bring that part of myself into my films is SO much fun.” — Sheena Chohan says.*
And perhaps that is what makes her latest preparation interesting. She isn’t discovering action for a role; she is bringing an existing part of herself into one.
For *Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam*, where she plays a female cop, IPS officer Anusha opposite J.D. Chakravarthy, With the announcement release date of Jatasya Maranam Dhruvam coming soon, Sheena Chohan shares a glimpse of her action training — ready to bring power, precision and combat energy to the screen:

”Fitness is a way of life. Martial arts is a skill I genuinely love — and honestly, it’s SO much fun, specially when i can use it in playing my characters on screen”* Sheena Chohan adds.
With her latest training glimpse, Sheena makes a simple point: sometimes the strongest action heroes are not created for the camera — *they are trained long before the camera arrives.*
